AN MP met with councillors and representatives from a bank with is about to close.
James Duddridge MP for Rochford and Southend East raised concerns over the closure of Barclays bank in West Street, Rochford on October 27.
He said: “Like most of my constituents, I was disappointed to hear of the closure and felt it important to seek reassurance from Barclays that the needs of both staff and customers were going to be prioritised throughout this transition.
One of my main concerns with the closure of the branch was the impact this would have on the more vulnerable customers.
“I was reassured that the local Post Office located at Martin McColls, 14 West Street, Rochford would be able to offer 99 per cent of the same in house services that the Rochford branch is currently offering.”
