Traffic has cleared after a three vehicle collision caused delays on the A127 and resulted in a woman in her 70s being taken to hospital.
The incident occured just past the Mayflower Retail Park going towards London.
One lane has been blocked between the junction of the Nevendon Interchange onto the A132 and Noak Bridge junction near Basildon onto the A176.
Police and ambulance services were at the scene.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Police received reports of a road traffic collision on the A127 in Basildon at around 12.30pm today - Tuesday, August 15.
"Officers received calls that a lorry and two vehicles had collided close to the Mayflower industrial park.
"A woman, aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries."
