Travellers will be served a notice to leave tomorrow.
The group of travellers, including children, arrived at the Beacons Field Car Park, in Dry Street, Langdon Hills, this morning.
The Echo understands from councillor Kerry Smith that the Essex Police and Essex Countywide Traveller Unit officers visited the site earlier today.
The ECTU is expected to issue a Direction to Leave notice tomorrow morning, which will give the travellers 24 hours to leave the site.
Essex Police have also agreed to return to site tomorrow to reassess the situation.
