Detectives have spoken out after a man was jailed for nine years after stabbing a teenager in Southend.

Det Sgt Rachel Jeffery and Det Ins Chris Rose, from Southend CID have condemned Nes Kisoka, 19, for his violent actions after he stabbed an 18 year old man 14 times at the Kursaal in Eastern Esplanade.

Kisoka stabbed the man during a fight on April 1.

He was arrested that night at Honiton Road and Woodgrange Avenue at around 1.30am.

Det Sgt Jeffery said: "This was a violent and frenzied attack at a busy party.

“It is galling that Kisoka was so comfortable using this level of violence and the results could have been much worse.

“I hope he uses his time in prison to consider the consequences of his actions."

Kisoka admitted to stabbing the man at Basildon Crown Court on September 26.

He was jailed at the same court on Thursday October 5.

Det Ins Chris Rose said: “I want to praise the hard work of all the officers involved in this investigation.

“This was a really nasty attack and their dedication and tenacity has helped bring Kisoka to justice.

"This was a terrifying incident and I would also like to praise the bravery of the victim.”
