THOUSANDS of patients are set to benefit from a major refurbishment at a GP practice which used to be an old school building.
Wivenhoe surgery, in Philip Road, has now opened in its new premises which boasts additional clinical rooms, extra car parking and designated drop-off zones.
As well as giving scope to recruit more clinicians, the surgery offers opportunities for more NHS healthcare providers to deliver services there.
Practice manager Zoe Cronin said: “We’ve worked on achieving new premises for our patients for the last 12 years so it is a tremendous achievement.
"We hope our patients will find the experience of accessing services at our new building much easier.”
An open day will be held on Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
