Police are continuing to appeal for information following a serious crash on the A128 in Orsett yesterday.

Two cars – a grey Mercedes C200 and a blue Audi A2 – were in collision with a lorry and a van at around 1pm.

Initial reports suggested that six vehicles were involved in the collision, however, this was later confirmed not to be the case.

A 26-year-old man from Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

He remains in hospital receiving care.

Two other people were treated for minor injuries.

A 56-year-old man from Paddington, London, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence. He was later released under investigation.
