A SCHOOL has celebrated the 30-year service of a popular member member of staff.
A surprise assembly was held at Greensted Junior School in Kirby Road, Basildon to celebrate one of its most loved members of the catering team, Christine Mann’s, after three decades of her working in the kitchen.
Children and teachers gathered to surprise Christine for the celebration.
The school said that Christine has been a big advocate of healthy eating at the school and she is a favourite of the children across the school.
Greensted’s headteacher, Ian Hampshire, said: “We were delighted to be able to thank Christine for all of her hard work and dedication and very much hope that she will continue to be part of Greensted Junior School for many more years to come.
“It is an amazing feat to accomplish 30 years’ service in one place and we are all so happy and proud of Christine.
“It goes to show what a lovely place this school is to work at.”
