A TALENTED teenager from has held his first photography exhibition after being talent scouted by an art expert.

Belfairs Academy student Alfie Winters, 14, has been showcasing his work at gallery 70 The Broadway, in his hometown of Leigh-on-Sea, for the past week.

The year 10 pupil is a member of Leigh Camera Club and his work was spotted by the gallery on networking site Instagram.

Dad Lee Winters said: "The gallery is trying to promote artists from the area and they offer something called the Gallery Takeover which lets would be artists display their work for a week.

"He had 14 images on display and it as been well received. He is very excited to be in the gallery at his age. I am very proud of him."

Alfie's favourite subjects to picture are unique pieces of architecture, as well as people going about their day to day lives, particularly whilst at work.

Mr Winters said: "He would love to go down the creative route when he is older.

"He is an A-star pupil and me and his mother have told him not to give up his maths and business studies just yet, but photography would be an ideal career for him."
