Basildon Council has announced its new dates for bin collections over the Easter period.

Refuse and recycling collections due to take place on Good Friday (March 30) will be moved to Saturday, 31 March. All collections next week will be one day later than usual due to there being no service on Easter Monday (April 2).

Barleylands Recycling Centre will be open as usual throughout the Bank Holiday weekend. Visit www.basildon.gov.uk/barleylands for more information on opening times.

The Basildon Centre will be closed to the public on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Assisted self service will be available from 9am until 1pm on Saturday, but the telephone enquiries service will be closed. The library will remain open between 9am and 5pm.

Residents will still be able to make payments online and access other council services at www.basildon.gov.uk and the emergency out-of-hours phone line will remain in operation.

The George Hurd Centre and other activity centres in Pitsea and Laindon will be closed throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Place will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, but will be open as usual on Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Wat Tyler Country Park will be open to the public from 9am until 7pm throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, with its facilities open from 9.30am to 4.30pm. The Towngate Theatre will be closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
