Benfleet company Clean Green Cleaning Services has been awarded the coveted title of Castle Point Business of the Year.

The announcement came in front of 130 guests at Castle Point Council’s civic dinner at Runnymede Hall, on Saturday.

The Apprentice of the Year Award was also announced, going to Shelby Martin of Blu Nuvo.

Clean Green Cleaning Services becomes the eleventh winner of the award.

It demonstrated business excellence throughout the last 12 months.

Clean Green was able to showcase how back in 1989 it was among the pioneers of environmentally friendly cleaning and how it has established itself as a successful, family run business with a great reputation.

The Apprentice of the Year award once again attracted many outstanding candidates, demonstrating the excellent talent pool of young people available to the local business community and was sponsored by Seevic College.

Shelby, a Castle Point resident, took the award for her key contribution to the successful day to day operation of the Blu Nuvo Salon in Benfleet.

A commendation was presented to runner-up Sommer Higgs of Benfleet Dental Centre.

The evening was sponsored by Castle Point Business Forum, and Seevic College. The awards were presented by this year’s Mayor, Cllr Brian Wood. The search for the outstanding businesses and apprentices of Castle Point for the 2019 award will begin in the Autumn.
