An Essex Police dog tracked down a man after a vehicle was stolen on the A127.
Tex was on hand during the pursuit after police received reports of a stolen Land Rover on the A127 just before 1.20am on Saturday May 26.
The driver failed to stop for the officers and a pursuit was authorised, which saw the stolen car drive off at speed.
The pursuit came to end just after 1:40am in Bournes Green Chase, Southend when a stinger was deployed to stop the vehicle.
The driver then abandoned the car and officers searched the area.
He was subsequently tracked and located by Tex and his handler Pc Luke Pitchford.
A 35-year-old-man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and theft of a motor vehicle.
He is also wanted on recall to prison.
He remains in custody.
