Police have arrested two men after a lengthy pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle.
The incident which took place last night saw officers chase the driver through South Ockendon, Grays and Aveley.
Pc Gemma Briton accompanied Pc Paul Glensman as they pursued the driver of the stolen black Ford Fiesta.
The officers eventually managed to halt the driver by using tactical contact to stop the driver.
Pc Briton and Pc Glensman's vehicle did suffer some panel damage on the passenger side of the vehicle, however, the stolen vehicle had to be pulled out from a ditch at the side of the road.
After the incident, two males were arrested for suspected theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, drug-driving, possession of cannabis and other driving offences.
