EIGHTIES pop rock supergroup Mike and the Mechanics have announced their 2019 nationwide tour, titled Looking Back Over My Shoulder.

The epic run of 34 concerts held from February to April, stops at the Cliffs Pavilion on Saturday March 23.

The band - known mainly for their hit singles Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground), All I Need Is a Miracle, Taken In, Over My Shoulder and The Living Years - was formed in 1985 as a side project of Mike Rutherford, the bassist and one of the founding members of the band Genesis. He was joined by Andrew Roachford on lead and backing vocals (whose previous hits include Cuddly Toy and Family Man) and Canadian-born singer, Tim Howard also on lead and backing vocals, (of Vantramp, who toured with the likes of Rod Stewart and Paulo Nutini).

Together they went on to sell over ten million records worldwide.

The UK tour follows their recently sold-out tour in the US.

Looking Back Over My Shoulder Tour in 2019, will include tracks from their latest album Let Me Fly.

Also included in the set will be their massive 1980s hit single The Living Years which became a number one hit in the US. The single then went onto become a global success.

Mike and the Mechanics will be at the theatre in Station Road, Westcliff, at 7.30pm.
