BUILDING work has started on new homes in Basildon and Billericay.
Leader of Basildon Council, Andrew Baggott and chairman of the housing committee, councillor Don Morris attended the sites in Long Lynderswood, Lee Chapel North and Roman Way, Billericay, on Wednesday as work started.
The new homes at the site, in Long Lynderswood, include a development of 20 two-bedroom apartments.
They will be marketed specifically to key workers like teachers, nurses and police officers.
The councillors also attended Roman Way in Billericay where 15 semi-detached and terraced two-storey houses will be built.
All the homes are being built by Sempra Homes - the council’s house building company.
