Tony Baws and I are singing from the same hymn sheet regarding dogs (Aug 16).
I had written in reply to a letter from Pippa Jackson, who had been in a nasty incident with a dog running free out of control.
I wasn't suggesting that dogs should be sentenced to a life without free running walkies as he puts it, just that it should be done in a suitable place and without being a nuisance to members of the public.
There is nothing better than good brisk road walking on a lead, to keep a dog in good firm condition.
