A major road in and out of the county has been partially blocked after a crash.

The A127 Southend-bound carriageway has been partially blocked and traffic is already queuing back to the M25 after the crash between M25 junction 29 and Childerditch Lane.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or allow extra time to travel.

It is believed a lorry was involved but it is unknown how many vehicles are involved at this stage.

A driver on the opposite side of the road, said: "I do not know if anybody was injured but they are certainly going to be very shaken up because the damage is very major.

"It appeared that scaffolding on the back of the truck and crashed through the front windscreen and into the passenger side of the van that had hit it.

"The queues coming from the M25 onto A127 are long already and I expect that they will become very long very quickly."

We will bring you more information when it becomes available.
