We can minimise our casualties by immediately withdrawing from Iraq. The illusion of democracy has evaporated as the Sunnis have left the government, which is now a puppet supported by the US military.
The Shias are now regarded as collaboratingwith infidels, which is considered justification for the horrific attacks by the other factions.
The perpetuation of this war is necessary to the US to maintain a military presence in Asia. The US is alleging Iran is supplying insurgents with arms and labelling the Iranian army as a terrorist organisation.
With friends like this, who needs enemies?
