Why is there an obsession for building so many apartments in Rayleigh?
A reasonable number we could take and still keep the family feeling of the town, but not on the scale that is being built now.
At this rate we will drive families out of the town and become another Westcliff, with all that entails.
We appear to let the developers take the driving seat instead of being proactive in ensuring they do what is best for the community.
The developers make huge amounts of money and very little is spent on improving the infrastructure.
It is about time we imposed conditions on developers which would help the community as well as allowing them to make large amounts of cash. Our planning department is letting us down.
