I must agree with D Peters (Aug 17), saying the days when charity shops will take anything are over.

I have walked away more than once from Oxfam and other charity shops, being told my old clothes or books wereunwanted.

If charity shops become too fussy they may find the general public will not donate anymore.

They should also not charge too much.

Sometimes, the goods are almost as much as it would cost to buy them new.

They must remember they are charity shops and not get delusions of grandeur and try to become Harrods.
