NHS HEROES can exercise for free from home thanks to an innovative personal trainer.

Mum-of-two, Katie Collins, is offering her bootcamp transformation programme online after having to stop seeing clients due to the Covid-19 outbreak, and has gone from 30 members to more than 150 in just three weeks.

The 33-year-old from Southend launched Body Busters Bootcamp in January after having her second baby, as personal training was becoming too difficult to juggle with two young children.

After getting off to a flying start and seeing her business grow from ten clients to 30, Boris Johnson’s announcement in March to close all gyms and halls left Katie devastated and not only worried about where that would leave her financially, but her clients too.

Katie, 32, said: “The bootcamp is free for all NHS workers and key workers on the frontline to say thank you for all that they are doing for us.

“I have quite a lot of nurses who are all doing it. It’s great for them as they can do it after coming in from a night shift.

“The fact I’m inspiring and motivating all of these women is absolutely mind-blowing.

“I’m making people feel better in such an awful, stressful time, not only physically but mentally too.

“People have said to me ‘I don’t know what I would do without you, every morning I wake up and it keeps me motivated and keeps me focussed’.

“I was so upset about lockdown, I thought ‘this is it’ - I have just built this up, just had my second baby and all these ladies are in the middle of a transformation, it’s going to be ruined.

“But now Body Busters Bootcamp online has grown so much It’s been a breath of fresh air for me and allowed me to keep my mind active too.

“I think if I’d have lost everything I’d have been in really bad place mentally.”

The bootcamp was predominantly aimed at mums who couldn’t get child care, and Katie welcomed clients to bring their kids, knowing how women feel after having children - wanting to get into the gym but not always being able to.

After the Covid-19 outbreak, Katie was going to start training her clients outside but then social distancing measures came in and put a stop that.

Katie, added: “I said to my 30 ladies ‘let’s do this online’.

“I made it a really affordable price because of everyone’s financial situation at the moment.

“Some of my ladies aren’t working and some of them have self-employed businesses going down.

“It’s also been a great way to make friends.”

Katie hosts a morning session and evening session every day with a different workout each day, through video conferencing app Zoom, which allows multiple people to join. The four-week transformation is just 99p per day
