SUPERHEROES brought a town to a standstill as Captain America, Spider-Man and more took to the streets to meet fans.

Hadleigh saw the arrival of the Thundersley Superhero Alliance to raise money for Little Havens Hospice.

Characters including the Mandalorian, Deadpool, the Joker and Captain Jack Sparrow among others met kids throughout Saturday.

It was the group’s first event held since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The heroes were also joined by mayoress of Castle Point, Patricia Haunts.

Group founder Simon Foxen said: “The superheroes were a resounding success, I’m so proud of my superhero friends for bringing such joy to everyone in Hadleigh and helping to raise funds for Little Havens Hospice at the same time, the people of Hadleigh were amazing as was Morrison’s who got involved as well.”

Jane Hopkins, area team leader for Havens Hospices, said: ‘The Thundersley Superhero Alliance are avid supporters of Little Havens Hospice and have raised thousands of pounds making superhero appearances at Havens Family fun days, Southend Carnival and by organizing their own events.

“They also have visited patients and families at Little Havens which has been a big hit and brought much joy and happiness.”
