Officers in Southend have issued advice to residents after reports of possible rogue traders.
Police say they have received reports of possible rogue traders in Thorpe Bay.
They have issued a warning to residents in the area and provided advice to those who may be targeted.
A spokesman for Southend Police said: "We have received reports of possible rogue traders in Thorpe Bay.
"If you receive a leaflet advertising any type of work or someone knocks at your door offering to do work for you, please check their credentials and do not proceed unless you are happy.
"Make sure they are a legitimate company and check their reviews if you can.
"Never feel pressured into getting work done if you don't feel it needs to be done."
