A JUST Stop Oil protester on the QEII Bridge has shown no signs of coming down as he says it will end when the government makes a “meaningful statement”.
The QEII Bridge has been closed since 3:50am on Monday morning after two people had climbed onto the bridge and are at a height.
Just Stop Oil have claimed they are behind the protest as they demand an end to new oil and gas.
Queues this morning were more than “six miles long” as drivers tried to go through the tunnel as part of the diversion.
Despite protesters being up there for almost 30 hours now, they don’t seem to show any signs of coming down anytime soon.

In the video on the group’s social media, Morgan, Just Stop Oil protester, said they will stop when the government makes a meaningful statement.
“We just survived our first night up here, I was pretty cold and didn’t sleep much but I am ok.

“We are up here until the government makes a meaningful statement to cancel all new licences for oil and gas extraction because oil and gas is killing us now.
“Now is the moment for civil resistance, come and do what you can in this pivotal moment in history.
“We will stop this disruption when the government cancels all new oil and gas.”
