ORGANISERS of a Sausage and Cider Festival have announced the popular event will be heading to Southend next year.

The Sausage and Cider Festival is an event held in many places across the UK each year celebrating amazing food and drink.

This is the very first time it will be coming to Southend, and it will be hosted at Priory Park on June 17, 2023.

Doors will open from 2pm and end 11pm.

There will be more than 50m of bars with an amazing range of craft cider from around the UK, including both cocktails and beers.

Organisers say there will also be great food vendors with 12+ plus of sausage flavour and other

street food available on site.

There will also be a huge stage with there will be incredible live music, for residents to sing the night away.

But as well as the enjoyment of food and live music, there will be two competitions for those who wish to take part.

One is a “fastest sausage eating content”, the other is a “chilli eating competition”.

A spokesman for the Sausage and Cider Festival said: “The huge outdoor festival will be arriving in Southend on Saturday, June 17.

“Expect a huge stage of live music from some of the UK’s foremost tribute acts, plus we are looking to select some local talent to perform too.”

By the end of 2021, the Sausage and Cider Festival had visited more than 50 different locations across the whole of the UK.

Welcoming more than 80,000 people.
