A BODY has been found in a Basildon car park near to the town centre.
Essex Police has confirmed a man has been found dead at the scene of a car park in Hempstalls, Basildon.
Officers currently remain at the scene, and a cordon is in place.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called to a car park in Hempstalls, Basildon at around 11am this morning, September 8, following the concern for safety of a man.
“Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His death is currently being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious.
“Officers remain at the scene and a cordon is in place.”
