The latest obscenity in providing Government, rather public, money to already highly paid GPs, is to give them, on BMA insistence, a £100 bonus for annual checks on people with learning difficulties.

This, after an official enquiry warned they were, “suffering avoidable ill-health and even premature death because their needs were being ignored”.

Extra payment for what they should be doing anyway?

It is well past time for some doctors to stop referring to their job as a profession.
