Recent letters to the Echo appear to paint all bus drivers the same.
I use the First Group service 20 to Hullbridge on a daily basis and I find the majority of drivers helpful.
Indeed, I have witnessed them leaving their seats to assist passengers with their shopping trolleys.
Some do get agitated at the time it takes some of the elderly to get off the bus, but signs advise passengers to remain seated until the bus stops.
A minority of drivers also give the impression they object to the concessionary bus pass. It should be recognised that many jobs are kept by the payments.
First Group made £107 million in the six months to September. The bus group boosted operating profits to £60million, a 25 per cent increase.
These include huge Government subsidies and payments by local councils towards the bus pass.
It should also be noted the group paid a £55million dividend bonanza to its shareholders, a 10 per cent increase.
