A PANTO is being held to raise funds for wheelchair-bound twins who suffer with cerebral palsy.

Rochford District Players are performing Cinderella this week to raise money for seven-year-olds Billy and Grace Gibbons.

The money raised will go towards a sensory room and equipment at the youngsters’ home in Silversea Drive, Westcliff.

Darren Kent, from the players, who once had a part in Hollywood film Mirrors, with Kiefer Sutherland, said: “We raised money for the twins last year and want to continue to help finish their sensory room.”

Southend United’s manager Steve Tilson, a friend of Darren’s, joined the players to promote their latest charity show.

He said: “I like to watch a show in the West End with my family when I can, but the Players really go for it, the singing and acting is top standard and most of all, the kids have a great time.

“It’s funny because you do it for your children and you end up having just as much fun as them!

“Rochford District Players are doing this show for young Billy and Grace.

“After reading their story it really captured my heart. I would always find time for a cause like this.”

Cinderella will be performed at Greensward College, Greensward Lane, Hockley, today and tomorrow.

Tickets for the shows cost £5.50 for afternoon performances and £7.50 for evening shows.
