ADVICE on eating food safely has been provided to tackle the problem of food poisoning.
Rochford District Council held a roadshow outside the Civic Suite in Rayleigh where council officers answered questions about food safety and other issues.
The council’s environmental health team was also giving out campaign leaflets to housing associations, sheltered schemes, community centres and church groups to spread the food safety message.
The event marked Food Safety Week, organised by the Food Standards Agency which is worried about the rise in listeria food poisoning among the elderly.
