Tom Parkes has got it wrong when he said people are snobs if they don’t like the way Essex people talk (June 12).
The point is some can’t speak a line without swearing.
I have heard more swearing on the streets of Essex in the past few years than in all the time I was in the Army.
I don’t think I am a snob, but friends and family don’t swear in my house out of courtesy to my wife and myself.
