I strongly object to the proposed KFC drive through planned for the centre of Hadleigh to replace the Crown public house.
I read some time ago the council was planning for Hadleigh town centre to be as upmarket as Leigh Broadway.
How does demolishing a locally listed building, dating from 1769, and the imposition of a KFC drive through and car wash make Hadleigh upmarket?
It will bring about huge traffic problems, it will create late night disturbances, noise and pollution.
Hadleigh has numerous fast food establishments already.
Come on Castle Point Council and planners, come up with something that will keep Hadleigh as a place where people love to shop and linger in the tea rooms and gift shops, not somewhere where all we want to do is shop and run.
