Basildon Hospital health chiefs are seeking ways to reduce the number of terminally- ill people dying in hospital by creating more hospices and improving home and residential care (June 22).

However, I wonder how many of those lying in hospital or even being cared for at home would choose the Dignitas option if it were available in this country?

Every time the subject is debated the so-called moral or religious objections seem to win the day.

I believe everyone not only has the right to life, but also the right to a choose how to die.
