With the recent demise of Essex FM the final nail has been virtually knocked in the proverbial coffin of local commercial radio with Heart FM broadcasting the same programmes across swathes of the south east and indeed much of the entire country, with the exception of perhaps the breakfast and drivetime shows.
How Ofcom and the IBA has allowed this to happen goes against everything that local radio was supposed to be when set up.
