FOLLOWING the release of their debut album Shooting From the Lips and Other Crimes Of Passion, Southend rock punksters Trash Monroe are hosting their own music night at Club Riga this Friday.

The night, called Mirror Balls and Rebel Calls, is the first to be organised by the band, who have gathered all the groups on the bill.

Joining the five-piece, known for their dark guitar riffs and the screaming vocals of blond punky doll-like lead singer Melany Dantes, will be fellow local punks Deferred Sucess and unique noisemakers Fashoda Crisis.

Melany says: “If you like your music live, this promises to deliver one of the must-see bills in Southend for 2010.”

Trash Monroe will also be performing locally on May 5 at Chinnerys, when they are supporting touring French band Kells.

Mirror Balls and Rebel Calls takes place in the Cricketers bar at Club Riga in Milton Road, Westciff, at 8pm. Entry is £3.
