I could not believe the money being spent on the seafront.
I believe it was only last year Southend Council re-marked the parking bays along the seafront from Chalkwell to the pier. The council even spent ages putting numbers on each bay – 700 plus. Now it has decided to scrub them all out and start again only at a different angle.
What a waste of my council tax.
It is now going to put in a cycle path, even though there is one marked in the road. Another waste.
The council has to spend its budget on something before the March deadline.
It is wasting money in the wrong areas, just look at Southend behind the facade and it leaves a lot to be desired.
How about starting by mending the roads, especially the westbound carriageway by the hospital.
