A PARAMEDIC helping at the scene of an accident was struck by a quad bike on the seafront.
At around 5.50pm yesterday, a quad bike hit the paramedic and a parked car in Western Esplanade, Westcliff, close to the junction with Shorefield Gardens.
The paramedic and the quad bike rider, who was thrown from his vehicle and was not wearing a helmet, were taken to hospital. The paramedic was this morning described as poorly.
The road was closed in both directions while police and ambulances dealt with the scene, with crash investigators working into the night.
