A report by the House of Lords in June last year indicated Scotland was receiving a £25billion subsidy from England under the Barnett formula.

This has given it benefits, particularly in health and education, denied to the English.

The Tories estimate £200million a year is needed to pay for cancer drugs in England, which are currently unavailable.

David Cameron’s first act was to visit Alex Salmond in Scotland, and state he was open to a request for a £700million package to boost the Scottish economy.

Mr Cameron is desperate to be the Prime Minister of the fragmented and broken UK, despite the Tories only receiving 16 per cent of Scottish votes.

Some 59 per cent of English people in a poll in 2006 wanted the Scots to leave the UK.

For how much longer are they willing to subsidise this “proud and independent”

nation.
