HED Kandi is celebrating its fifth birthday at Storm tomorrow night.

On the decks will be DJs John Jones and Greg Myers, and there will be a live PA by Polina Griffith, performing her anthems SOS and Over Now, as well as other new material.

Both tracks stormed the UK dancefloors and were number ones on the UK club chart.

Russian born Griffith has worked with different producers and songwriters including Joel Edwards, connected to Deepest Blue, and Jerry Barnes, who has worked with Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack and Bette Midler.

She is focusing on solo material and also writes for many international producers.

Gavin Hermida, 30, promotions supervisor from Storm, says clubbers could expect a massive night.

He says: “I remember going to a Hed Kandi when I went to Ibiza a very long time ago.

“I absolutely fell in love with the tunes and the show.

“So we were so chuffed when we first got them to come to Storm, as they’re one of the world’s biggest music brands.

“We knew Hed Kandi would go down a treat with the clubbers of Southend.

“Five years on and we are about to celebrate the fifth birthday. We can’t wait for what will be a momentous occasion for all at Storm and the glorious people of Southend.”

Admission is £7 before 11.30pm, £8 afterwards.
