DANCE group Tha London Undaground have landed their biggest gig yet – supporting their music heroes.

The four-piece will open for Groove Armada on Friday, October 15, at the Brixton Jamm Club in Brixton.

The band, formed last year, are vocalist James O’Brian, guitarist John O’Brian, percussionist Peter Hamilton, and lead guitarist Chris Wolf.

So far they have released the single A Twisted Romance followed by A Twisted Remix. They also won Best Dance Track at the 2010 Exposure Music Awards.

James, 27, of Southchurch Road, Southend, says: “I grew up listening to Groove Armarda, so it is great for us to be supporting them. They’re definitely the biggest name we have supported.

“We’re all local lads who met on the Southend dance scene back in the Nineties.

“There were a lot of raves and gigs we all went to in London. The band is now our full-time job and we gig regularly during the year.”

The boys like to put on a good show for their fans.

“I play the frontman role well, and like to think I am a bit of a Mick Jagger on stage,” laughs James, “The live gigs are definitely up-tempo and the crowds are always jumping about.”
