Colchester United will take part in a benefit match for former striker Jamie Guy this summer.
The U’s have promised to send a strong side to Braintree Town for the pre-season match at Cressing Road.
The game is set to take place on July 19, kick-off 7.45pm.
Guy, who rose through the youth ranks at Colchester before leaving them at the start of last year, suffered a horrific leg break in February.
He snapped his tibula and fibula playing for Iron in a match at Eastleigh.
Guy faces a lengthy lay-off and is preparing to begin his rehabilitation, in the summer.
Guy said: “I’d like to thank Joe Dunne and the lads at Colchester for thinking of me - I really appreciate it.”
Meanwhile, U’s youngster Freddie Ladapo has joined Braintree’s Blue Square Bet South rivals Chelmsford City on loan.
