A PREDATORY paedophile admitted luring a seven-year-old boy into a restaurant toilet before subjecting him to a sickening sex attack.

Dean Freeman, 24, from Hamstel Road, Southend, had only recently been freed from prison after serving half of his five-year, eight-month jail term for abducting a ten-year-old boy.

Freeman had been released on licence and was staying at the controversial Felmores Bail Hostel, in Pitsea, which houses serious sex offenders and other criminals.

Freeman, who was subject to monitoring by the probation service and police, went into Basildon town centre two weeks ago today, on Friday, April 15.

He went into a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant, which was busy at the time as local children enjoyed meals during the school Easter holiday break.

Freeman lured a seven-year-old boy into the toilets where he then forced the child to perform a sex act with him. The alarm was raised and Freeman was soon arrested and charged.

Yesterday, at Basildon Crown Court, Freeman admitted causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity. He also admitted a further charge of breaching his Sexual Offences Prevention Order, imposed by Basildon Crown Court in September 2008, which banned Freeman from communicating with any child under the age of 16.

The order, placed on Freeman to stop him committing sexual offences, was imposed while he was jailed for the earlier abduction attempt on the ten-year-old boy.

Freeman, who appeared in the dock wearing a dark blue T-shirt, fidgeted throughout the short hearing and answered only to enter his pleas.

Judge Ian Graham adjourned sentencing while pre-sentence reports were prepared.

The judge refused a defence request for Freeman to be evaluated by a psychiatrist ahead of sentencing.

Freeman, who had been remanded in custody since an earlier hearing last week at Basildon Magistrates’ Court, was again jailed.

He will return to the court in June for sentence.

Freeman previously jailed for trying to abduct boy from school
BEAST Dean Freeman had only been freed from prison a matter of months when he committed his heinous crime.

In September 2008, the then 21-year-old Freeman, who was living at Hamstel Road, Southend, at the time, was jailed for five years, eight months at Basildon Crown Court.

Freeman, who had been downloading images of young boys being sexually abused, phoned a school in Rayleigh in January 2008 claiming to be the father of a ten-year-old pupil.

He told unwitting staff he was sending a cab to collect a pupil to take him the dentist. Freeman then called the Bestax cab firm and asked them to collect the boy.

But Freeman’s evil plan was foiled when quick-thinking cab driver Steven Hilder – who was driving the boy – became suspicious when the boy did not recognise the house he was being driven too.

Mr Hilder then picked up Freeman from his home in Hamstel Road, Southend, but he threw the paedophile out of the cab after the taxi office called the driver to say the boy didn’t have permission to leave school. Freeman was arrested and charged with abduction.

Following his arrest for that offence a second child reported suffering repeated sexual abuse at Freeman’s hands between 2000 and 2006.

At the court hearing in September 2008 Freeman admitted abduction, 17 counts of possessing indecent images of children, gross indecency on a child under 16 and sexually touching a child without consent.

As well as being jailed, Freeman was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and banned from talking to or working with children.
