We are told (July 19), there has been an increase in the number of elite serving Southend Council who earn £1,000 to £2,000 weekly.
Meanwhile, chief executive Rob Tinlin graciously reduced his pay to about £3,400 weekly.
At the same time, staff wages are frozen for the council riff-raff and most survive on a wage of about £230 weekly, with no bonuses.
But there are too many of them, so the council is axing 178, about nine percent.
They need the money.
