SEEING her daughter make it through to the live finals of the X Factor and finding out she is going to be a grandmother has been a double dream come true for Julie Bird.

Her daughter Charley, 23, from Basildon, was picked along with 2 Shoes bandmate Lucy Texeira, from Shenfield, to go through to final 16 acts of the televised competition on Sunday.

The girls wowed resident judge Tulisa Contostavlos, from the pop band N Dubz, and Jessie J, who was a guest judge, with their soulful version of Kesha’s Tick Tock during a pre-recorded show filmed in Greece.

They will now appear in the first of a series of live shows on Saturday.

Julie, 49, of the Barnyard, Langdon Hills, said: “The news of the girls making the finals and the baby has been amazing, a real dream come true.

“I’m absolutely thrilled for Charley. I had an inkling they would get through, but it is amazing because they have worked so hard for the last two years gigging across the county.

“We will all be at the live show on Saturday to support the girls. They are best friends and sing so beautifully together.”

Charley lives in Basildon with boyfriend Greg Phillips, 30, of four years, who is a car salesman.

Julie added: “Greg, Charley’s little sister Danielle, her godmother and I will all be at the show supporting the girls.

“We need to get as much support for them as possible.

“It’s lovely they were the only group to make it to the finals that were together before the show started. It shows they’re special.

“Charley is so thankful to all those who are supporting her, especially from her old Lee Chapel Primary School.”

Lucy’s mum, Tracy Texeira, 52, added: “The whole experience has just been surreal, we are all so happy for the girls. It is amazing.

“The girls are in the X Factor house at the moment and are rehearsing like mad. They are living their dream and singing is their life. We just need everyone to vote for them now.”
