SOUTH Essex songbirds 2 Shoes left their mark on the first live X Factor show this year.
Charley Bird, 23, from Langdon Hills, and Lucy Texeria, 22, from Brentwood, performed on the ITV show and sang the 2006 Girls Aloud hit Something Kinda Oooh.
The bubbly duo started their routine in a pink car with the number plate '2 Shoes'.
The up-tempo number was well received by judges Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and mentor Tulisa Contostavlos.
Louis said: "It was fun, it was camp, it was an absolutely brilliant song choice."
Kelly said the girls were fun and she wanted to hang out with them while Tulisa said 2 Shoes can sing as well as entertain.
However, Take That frontman Gary Barlow was less impressed.
He said: "I want to be nice but girls, it was like a karaoke night in Romford."
Each judge saw their four acts perform and, for a one-week twist on the usual format of a public vote, the judges will each vote off one of their acts on Sunday night's show.
