I have to agree with the comments that protesters have got it wrong picking on St Mary’s Church in Southend.

I am not religious, but we all like a nice old church building, and this is one of the finest.

These people have no respect for the cemetery environs and relatives of the dead buried in these beautiful grounds.

I do have sympathy with the protesters’ cause, but this is definitely not the way to promote it.

Why should the congregation have to pay out for an injunction to get rid of these thoughtless people?

Although religion in general does a lot of harm in the world, churches in the main do a lot of good for communities.

The church should not have to spend some of its public donations on ejecting these protesters from what is effectively its front garden.

It seems to me there is something wrong with the law if nothing can be done to get rid of protesters and squatters without the land or homeowner paying.

It would mean we are all vulnerable and would need to pay to get a protester off our front lawn.
