THEIR debut single is in the offing, but ahead of its release, fun-loving indie rockers Chalet have a date at the Railway tomorrow.

The girl-boy fourpiece are due to release their first single, Birdwatch-ing, in the summer, so they’ll be ready to kick out an energetic live show ahead of the release.

Westcliff frontman Jim Hargreaves says: “We love that feeling you get when you can see the band are just really into it.

“I guess what we do is indie music, which lots of people don’t associate with having a good time. But we are the anti-grunge, the friendliest lot on the bill, always.

“We’re going to bring some really good times with us.”

With a heavy nod to some of their favourite guitar bands from the Nineties, including the Lemonheads and Teenage Fanclub, the band will bring a good dose of sunny energy and cheery guitar fun to Southend.

Chalet are at the Railway, Clifftown Road, Southend, tonight, at 8.30pm. Entry is free.
