A CHIC new nightclub opens its doors in Rayleigh this weekend in the form of Linx.

The brainchild of friends and owners Rob Beardwell and John McKenna, the club, which is above Superdrug on the High Street, has its launch night this weekend with the doors opening for the first time on Friday.

The pair came up with the idea for a club after watching their own teenagers travel to Basildon or Southend for a night out, and decided the market was ripe for a new club in their own town.

The club has plenty of special features to pull in the punters, including a VIP area with personal security and waiting staff, a cocktail menu that changes every month and a champagne bar, as well as a special taxi service to keep women safe as they make their way home.

A number will be advertised in the venue which clubbers text “Linx” to and a cab will text them back when they are waiting outside.

The club is decked out in glamorous boutique-style purple and silver decor, which the owners hope will create a chic but friendly atmosphere.

The club will see themed nights every Thursday to Sunday, including a Friday Full House night, which will take people back to the Nineties with house music and club classics and Saturday nights changing every week between, funk, soul, techno, and house music, plus a Sunday soul lounge and chillout evening.

Linx, in High Street, Rayleigh opens this Friday.
