HIP-HOP and spoken word giant Scroobius Pip will be behind the decks for a special appearance at the Pink Toothbrush on Friday.

The Echo carried a story on Wednesday listing the gig as taking place on Saturday, this was carried in error and Pip will in fact be playing a special DJ set at the Rayleigh club at their regular Anthem night on Friday.

The Stanford-le-Hope artist, who released his solo record at the end of last year, is in the middle of a hectic touring schedule ahead of a summer of festival appearances, but he’s managed to fit in the Rayleigh date where he’ll be spinning a top selection of tunes.

He’s also looking forward to getting back in the studio with partner in crime Dan le Sac once Dan’s solo album is out at the end of the month.

His regular night We Are Lizards used to run at the Sunrooms, but has only been taking place in London of late – with no plans for the busy artist to bring it back at the moment, so it’s a rare chance to catch Pip on home turf.

Scroobius Pip is at the Pink Toothbrush, High Street, Rayleigh on Friday night.
