Protesters opposing a £35million museum on Southend's cliffs have set up camp.
Campaign group Saxon King in Priory Park have joined local businesses and residents to pitch tents on the area opposite Prittlewell Square, Southend.
They say they are hoping to show Southend Council the strength of feeling of residents living in the conservation area.
The council wants to sink a 20,000sq ft museum, restaurant and car park complex into the cliffs above Western Esplanade, primarily for the Saxon king’s treasures.
