A police officer has saved a dog while attending an incident in Basildon.
During the early hours of Monday, November 13, Pc Abbie Gray was called to support the Mental Health Street Triage team at an incident.
When arriving at the address, Abbie found a puppy outside in the cold.
Abbie rescued the dog and kept him safe in the police car until the incident was resolved.
Abbie has since taken the dog to a temporary location for safekeeping until the owner is well enough to take care of him.
Pc Abbie Gray from Basildon Local Policing Team said: "It’s because of incidents like this that I love my job.
"There’s nothing more rewarding than ensuring the safety of members of the public and their pets too."
Abbie is part of the Local Policing Team in Basildon. Essex Police is currently looking for driven individuals to help protect the resident of Essex.
